Dalai Lama returns to Dharamsala after Kalachakra teachings

Dharamsala, HP, India, 21 July 2014 (Hindustan Times) - Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama returned to Dharamsala from Delhi after concluding the 33rd Kalachakra teachings at Ladakh. Around 200,000 devotees from 73 countries attended the Kalachakra held from July 3 to 14.

During the course of the teachings, the Dalai Lama had called for religious and social harmony among different communities in Ladakh.

Meanwhile, talking to mediapersons at Gaggal Airport, the spiritual leader expressed concern over the ongoing violence in various parts of the world.

“All religions talk of love and compassion. It is very sad that followers of these religions are indulged in violence,” said the Dalai Lama.

The spirituals leader's upcoming schedule includes a visit to Germany in August, where he will lead a discussion on 'Secular Ethics - Human Values In Our Lives,' at Hamburg on August 23.

He will also give teachings on Shantideva's A Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life (chodjug) on August 24 and 25; and will confer an Avalokiteshvera Initiation on the morning of August 26.
