His Holiness the Dalai Lama Expresses Sadness and Concern on the Recent Flooding in Jammu and Kashmir

Dharamsala, HP, India, 10 September, 2014 - In a letter to Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, His Holiness the Dalai Lama expressed his sadness at the loss of life and property as a result of massive flooding during heavy monsoon rains in the Indian state or Jammu and Kashmir.

Dharamsala, HP, India, 10 September, 2014 - In a letter to Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, His Holiness the Dalai Lama expressed his sadness at the loss of life and property as a result of massive flooding during heavy monsoon rains in the Indian state or Jammu and Kashmir.

His Holiness wrote that he understood that everything is being done to recuse those affected and that relierf  efforts are underway. He also expressed his deep condolences to the Chief Minister and the families that have lost loved ones in the devastating calamity.

As a token of sympathy, a donation from the Dalai Lama Trust has been offered to the Chief Minister's flood relief fund.
